The Sony FX3 camera from the Sony CineLine range is a 24x36 sensor of 12.1MP (10.2MP in video) 4K 120fps. It is capable of recording internally in Long Gop 4:2:2 on 10bits, and it is also possible to reach, at most, 240 frames/s in FH.
Operating on a Cine EI compatible Dual ISO 800/12,800 base, it is capable of recording in the S-Log3 or S-Gamut3.Cine. color space and is a perfect match with all other CineLine sensors.
Like its Sony counterparts, the FX3 has an excellent autofocus when mounted with a Sony Gmaster lens which allows it to detect looks, faces, movements in the frame and many more. Moreover, being smaller and lighter than its competitors Black Magic Pro 6k and Canon C70, it will be easy to use it on a stabilizer such as a Ronin RS2 or 3 or a Zhiyun Crane 2 or 3s.
Inspired by the MirrorLess hybrid cameras, the Sony FX3 camera is very close to the Alpha 7SIII with which it shares the same battery format (NPFZ-100) and cards : CFexpress for slow motion or SD type V90 for standard recordings.
Its main differences with the Alpha 7SIII are that the FX3 is well ventilated which allows it to shoot long continuous shots, and it also has many Kodak grip points which allow it to be used on many specific configurations.
The Sony FX3 has a sensor stabilized on 5 axes, however it does not have an eyecup and its removable top handle has 2 XLR3 audio inputs.
It is also equipped with an HDMI output allowing 4:2:2 16 bit recording on an external recorder, a USB-C bus, a multi bus, a microphone input and 3.5mm minijack headphone output and 2 XLR3 audio inputs.
Our Sony FX3 camera is available for rental, in partnership with Sunsetcam, as a kit with two lenses to choose from our Sony range, three batteries, one charger, two cards, a reader, a light tripod and a camera microphone. However, we also rent it as a simple camera with EF or PL adaptor rings according to your needs.
